Jiao Gu Lan - By Michael Blumert and Dr. Jialu Liu

In 1976 a Japanese researcher, looking for a sugar alternative, studies a perennial weed known for its sweetness. He discovers an herb with many qualities very similar to ginseng, even though unrelated as a plant. This event sparked years of scientific research on jiaogulan, praised china as xiancao, the herb of immortality, revealing it to be a powerful adaptogenic and antioxidant herb with many therapeutic qualities. The studies led to jiaogulan's use as a prescriptin on medical treatment in many hospitals in China.

Dr. Jialiu Liu, Professor of pathology at Guiyang Medical Center in China, led an eight year research project on jiagulan. He teams up with researcher Michael Blumert to reveal the historical background and summarize the scientific studies which show the extraordinary properties of this, until now, little-known herb.
